A better MRI, more detail for your doctor and a great experience for you
MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a non-invasive diagnostic procedure. This is a valuable medical exam that uses radio frequencies and magnetic fields to create detailed images of the human anatomy and bodily functions. MRI scans have been performed safely and successfully for 30 years.
MRI scans have a measurable advantage over other forms of scanning because they can image different types of tissue. More traditional forms of imaging, such as X-rays, are limited in the amount of detail produced in the image. MRI scans can image more types of tissue, and without ionizing radiation.
Centrelake routinely performs MRI scans when people are ill or injured, or when your doctor suspects a medical problem that cannot be easily detected with a routine physical examination. Our exams are non-invasive, meaning that no surgical procedures are required to view your body systems. This procedure is also used to obtain specific diagnostic information that hasn’t been provided by other imaging technologies such as ultrasound, traditional X-ray and computed tomography (CT).
Centrelake has invested in the latest technology to ensure we provide both patient and physician exactly what they need: for the patient, a remarkably comfortable non-claustrophobic experience and for the physician, the superb quality. Our General Electric Signa LX Open Bore 1.5 Tesla MRI generates diagnostic quality imaging that can be obtained only at true high field strength of 1.5 Tesla.
Centrelake’s MRI by GE has 4 to 5 times the signal-to-noise clarity than most open MRI machines and more than twice the signal-to-noise clarity than other units billed as high field. The superior image quality provides greater diagnostic confidence and accuracy. The unbelievably short 50-inch magnet length allows the patient’s head to be completely outside the machine for more than 60% of all studies. The 27-inch bore width and height provide more headroom, legroom, elbowroom and overall comfort. Equipped with a this level of technology, we can handle virtually any MRI application, from brain, body, and spine studies to specialized vascular and cardiac applications to spectroscopic imaging.
At Centrelake Imaging & Oncology, we have combined our advanced MRI capability with state-of-the-art software, generally only found at major academic hospitals. Our software has the capability to perform specialized studies such as perfusion/diffusion imaging, brain tumors and strokes. Our Board Certified radiologists routinely study patients with sports injuries, arthritis, tumors, and many other disease processes. We also perform studies which most radiology departments are traditionally unable to perform: MRCP (magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography), breast MRI, MRA of lower extremities, and MR Urography.
